After various weekend adventures by several independent groups of travelers, everyone assembled in the morning for our orientation to update everyone on our plans for the upcoming week.

Prior to our departure for Florence, the students were assembled into five research teams and given a distinct neighborhood of the city to investigate. After their “in the field” research last week, they were finally able to provide us with the results of their investigations. We learned a bit about the historic highlights, cafes and restaurants, and special character of each of the sections of Florence.

After a break for lunch, we reassembled for some studio time. We reworked previous drawings and then made new works from existing drawings. We also used some of the time for journaling.

Dinner was a tavola fresca in our classroom, with pizza bianca, salad, meats and cheeses, grapes and olives.
