Second Pre-departure Seminar | Seattle Art Museum Friday, Apr 23 2010

We met at the Seattle Art Museum for an evening of great art-viewing. Many thanks to the SAM for providing free entrances to our group.

After gathering in the lobby, we headed up to the Ensor/Baselitz print exhibition. Curt discussed the artists’ work and gave us information on the various printmaking methods employed by each of them.

Then, we headed up to the galleries of European art, specifically the Medieval and Renaissance galleries. Students were divided into groups and were asked to analyze a different work of art. The groups then reported back on their findings.

This was just a taste of what we will be experiencing in Italy this summer. The excitement is building!
